A man suspected of vandalizing a vehicle was shot and killed when he charged toward a Riverside County sheriff’s deputy with a tire iron. Friday’s incident occurred on Whitewater Cutoff east of Cabazon. The deputy was not injured but was placed on administrative leave pending an investigation. (INT)
