Pedestrians die in weekend accidents
Two pedestrians were among those killed in weekend traffic accidents around the Inland Empire. In San Bernardino, Willie Williams, 63, of Fontana lost his life Saturday when struck by a sedan on Fifth Street. Earlier Friday night in Ontario, another man was struck while running across the westbound Haven Avenue off-ramp from Interstate 10. In Riverside, Roberto Moreno, 32, lost control of his car on Victoria Avenue and struck a tree Saturday. In Colton Sunday, another single vehicle crash on South Cooley Drive injured three juveniles, one fatally. Killed was 5-year-old Alexa Adalia Avalos of Twin Peaks. Police said their vehicle veered across a raised center median and crashed into an electrical pole. (INT)
