RIVERSIDE – (INT) – Domestic violence played a role in a murder-suicide of the adults, but their three children are physically unharmed.

Police said Monday that the mother died of a gunshot wound after she managed to exit her northside home Saturday.

Her partner and father of the children, Christian Herrera, 37, barricaded himself inside the Sir Bedivere Drive home. A SWAT team later found him dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Ages of the children were not released.
