Hit-run figures in crash fatal to three youths
LUCERNE VALLEY – (INT) – The California Highway Patrol is stepping up their efforts to find two people who fled the scene of a weekend incident that left three young people dead and a fourth badly injured.

The victims, including two in wheel chairs, were walking in a traffic lane along Camp Rock Road, north of Rabbit Springs Road, late Saturday night when they were struck from behind. Two people bailed out of their Chevrolet Silverado and fled on foot.

Dead at the scene were Willow Sanchez, 11; Daytona Bronas, 12, and Sandra Mizer, age 13, all of Lucerne Valley. The fourth victim was airlifted to the Loma Linda University Medical Center.

The CHP said Tuesday that the driver and passenger were ‘unknown’.

The patrol did not comment on the cause of the incident, but darkness no doubt played a role.
