Couple charged in Freeway 55 road rage killing
SANTA ANA – (INT) – Murder charges were filed Tuesday against the Costa Mesa man accused of firing the fatal shot that killed a 6-year-old boy during a road rage incident on the 55 Freeway.

Orange County prosecutors allege that Marcus Anthony Eriz, 24, was riding as a passenger in the car driven by his live-in girlfriend when he shot at a vehicle where Aiden Leos was mortally wounded.

Wynne Lee, 23, was charged Tuesday with being an accessory and carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle.

A June 18th hearing has been set in Orange County Superior Court in which both will have a chance to enter their pleas.

Assistant CHP Chief Donald Goodbrand disclosed at a Monday afternoon news conference that both the gun and the vehicle involved in the incident have been recovered, but he didn’t say where.

As to how Eriz and Lee were linked to the investigation, Chief Goodbrand praised the public and the media as being ‘extremely helpful’ and that the CHP “never gave up”. He said there were ‘hundreds’ of tips.

District Attorney Todd Spitzer side-stepped questions on what role the $500,000 reward money might have played.
