Unmasking of residents depends on vaccinations
SAN BERNARDINO - (INT) – Local health officials are echoing CDC requirements on those who must still wear a mask now that California has reopened. And, de-masking may be a slow process.

Here’s the bottom line: Fully-vaccinated individuals won’t need to wear face coverings in most indoor and outdoor settings, they will still be required to wear a mask on planes, buses, trains, airports and transportation stations. Other places where vaccinated people will still need to wear masks, include health care settings, prisons, homeless shelters and schools. In addition, private businesses may choose to continue requiring facial coverings.

More than half of those in the Inland Empire over the age of 12 have not been fully vaccinated. They will still be required to wear facial coverings outside of their home. The unvaccinated can only take off their masks in public when they're outside and can maintain 6 feet of distance with others.

In Riverside County, approximately 51% of the county's residents are now fully or partially vaccinated, of which 42.6% are fully vaccinated.

Health care facilities are encouraged, but not required to conduct some form of wellness screening at their entrances.

There are no additional face-covering requirements in San Bernardino County.
