A citizen later identified as Robert Daniel Rodriguez began a disruption and was ordered removed from the council chambers. Gomez intervened forcing sheriff’s deputies to restrain and arrest both her and Rodriguez. The statement said “Gomez lost self-control displaying erratic and volatile behavior that caused us all to fear for the safety of our Council Members, staff and community members in attendance.” Gomez was charged with resisting/obstructing a peace officer.
