Victorville city council member arrested, loses self-control
VICTORVILLE – (INT) – City Council member Blanca Gomez and a masked man under post-release community supervision were arrested following a disturbance during Tuesday evening’s council meeting.

According to a statement issued Wednesday by the city, the council was advised there is not a definitive legal requirement for annually evaluating the need for expanded language access services. A citizen later identified as Robert Daniel Rodriguez began a disruption and was ordered removed from the council chambers.

Gomez intervened forcing sheriff’s deputies to restrain and arrest both her and Rodriguez.

The statement said “Gomez lost self-control displaying erratic and volatile behavior that caused us all to fear for the safety of our Council Members, staff and community members in attendance.”

Gomez was charged with resisting/obstructing a peace officer. Rodriguez was taken to the High Desert Detention Center for violating the terms of his post release community supervision. Gomez was charged and released.
