Menifee police stem social media threat at Paloma Valley High School
MENIFEE – (INT) – Search warrants for a social media account have led to the arrest of a graduate from Paloma Valley High School who allegedly made threatening statements.

Police said a concerned parent reported the statements posted on social media Friday. Officers and detectives responded to the school to determine if the threats were credible.

They identified 20-year-old Julianna Ortega as the prime suspect. Ortega was known to police from recent contacts and was stopped in her car and arrested. Police said she did not have the means to carry out the threats.

She was jailed on suspicion of making felony threats related to a school.

Earlier in the week, a student took a loaded gun to another local school campus. A 14-year-old girl was apprehended at Canyon Springs High School in Moreno Valley. No shots were fired and there was no explanation from sheriff’s investigators about the circumstances of the incident.
