Earthquake sends wholesale gasoline prices higher SOUTHLAND – (INT) – The recent mild earthquake centered near Carson is having an impact on gasoline prices.
News sources reported flaring immediately after the September 17th quake at the Marathon refinery. The Oil Price Information Service said the refinery may be continuing to experience issues. However, the Automobile Club pointed out “the wholesale price surge has not yet affected pump prices, and it may not have much effect because of plentiful imported gasoline.” As for gasoline pump prices, the Auto Club put the statewide average at $4.39 for a gallon of 87 octane regular. In Riverside, it’s unchanged at $4.31, $1.14 higher than last year. Meantime, another weak M2.7 earthquake struck the Carson area Thursday evening September 23rd. Story Date: September 27, 2021
