California climate package largest in state history
SEQUOIA NATIONAL PARK – (INT) - Governor Newsom signed 24 bills Thursday that focus on climate and clean energy efforts, drought and wildfire preparedness.

Combined, it’s the largest climate package in state history.

Over $15 billion in funding will tackle wildfire and drought challenges, build climate resilience in communities, promote sustainable agriculture and advance the state’s climate agenda.

At the site of the KNP Complex fire in Sequoia National Park, Newsom said “California is doubling down on its policies to confront the climate crisis head-on while protecting the hardest-hit communities. We’re deploying a comprehensive approach to meet the sobering challenges of the extreme weather patterns that imperil our way of life,” he said.
