Metrolink celebrating switch to renewable fuel
LOS ANGELES – (INT) – Metrolink is setting forth its Climate Action Plan in which it’s transitioning to renewable fuel and planning a zero-emissions future.

Metrolink Board Chairman Ara Najarian says all its locomotives are powered with non-petroleum fuel sources becoming the first railroad in the nation to make the switch.

A ceremony celebrating the change is planned for April 13th at Union Station.

Renewable fuels are those produced from renewable resources. Examples include: biofuels and Hydrogen fuel. By contrast, non-renewable fuels are those such as natural gas, LPG, petroleum and other fossil fuels and nuclear energy.
