More motorists turning to ‘micromobility’ devices SOUTHLAND – (INT) – Not surprisingly another aspect of record high gasoline prices is coming into focus.
Industry experts say the skyrocketing popularity of eBikes, motorcycles, scooters and other “micromobility” devices during the pandemic is continuing. It’s happening even after people return to pre-pandemic activities, at least partly because of record-high gas prices. This is Bicycle and Motorcycle Safety Month. Riders are at increased risk of being injured or killed in a crash with a vehicle, so drivers and riders need to exercise defensive attitudes, the Automobile Club of Southern California emphasizes. In the past six weeks across the Inland Empire, sixteen people have died in motorcycle accidents. That includes eleven during April, according to records maintained by Inland News Today.
