WalletHub compared the 50 states across 26 key indicators of places for a good time that won’t break the bank. They range from movie costs to accessibility of national parks to casinos per capita.

Following California in order were Florida, Nevada, New York and Illinois.

While Americans were limited in their recreation opportunities during the COVID-19 pandemic, the distribution of the vaccine has helped the leisure and hospitality sectors reopen, and there are plenty of options now, as long as rising prices don’t get in the way.
