Hemet and Riverside seek city managers
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Hemet is looking for a new city manager.

Christopher Lopez resigned Thursday effective the same day.

Lopez signed up with the city in 2018 and was elevated to city manager in December 2019.

Police Chief Eddie Pust will fill in as Acting City Manager until a replacement is found.

Lopez has reportedly been absent from four City Council meetings this spring. No reason was given for his abrupt departure.

Hemet has had six city managers in ten years.

Riverside is seeking a city manager of its own. Fire Chief Michael Moore has been tabbed to be acting city manager while a head-hunting firm has been recruited to recommend who replaces Al Zelinka. He departed this month to manage the City of Huntington Beach.
