By land and by sea, undocumented immigrants foiled at the border
SAN DIEGO – (INT) – Undocumented immigrants are stepping up pressure along the US-Mexico border south of San Diego.

The Border Patrol says it was holding over 1,500 who were apprehended in a single weekend this month. Most were from Mexico and Central America, but others who got across the border were residents of Venezuela, Brazil, and Romania.

Many were family members, unaccompanied children, and single adults. There were sixty-one in one group.

Twenty-two undocumented immigrants attempted to swim in the cold Pacific surf from Playas de Tijuana but were apprehended when they came ashore at Imperial Beach.
