What’s looming large on the November ballot?
UNDATED – (INT) – Poll watchers say abortion may emerge as a key issue in California’s November elections.

Californians have long opposed overturning Roe v. Wade. In a July survey, most Californians (68%) and likely voters (70%) disapproved of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

In an early test of voter sentiment on Tuesday, voters in Kansas decided by a wide margin to keep abortion legal in that state by rejecting a proposed state constitutional amendment.

Appearing on California’s November ballot will be a constitutional amendment (Proposition 1) that would—if voters approve—establish the right to abortion and contraception in the state constitution.

The Public Policy Institute of California says that reproductive rights and other prominent issues will no doubt be on voters’ minds as they decide which candidates to support and how to vote on state ballot measures. The economy and inflation also loom large.
