San Bernardino County sheriff issues annual crime stats
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Crime was on the increase last year in areas where the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department provides police protection.

The Annual Crime Report issued Wednesday (August 3rd) showed that among the sheriff’s 14 contract cities, there were seven with double-digit increases. Big Bear Lake led the way, up 30% followed by Grand Terrace at 27%.

Homicides topped the increases in Rancho Cucamonga and Highland.

In Hesperia, there were forty reported cases of rape for an increase of 111%.

Apple Valley showed a decrease in overall reported crime during 2021 by 9 percent.
