Miracle on the 91: Plane crash-lands amid heavy traffic
CORONA – (INT) – An outpouring of thankful prayers has followed a miracle on the Riverside Freeway.

No one was hurt in Tuesday’s crash landing of a single engine on the busy 91 freeway.

Authorities say two people were aboard the small plane when it came down and burst into flames narrowly missing most vehicles.

The pilot and his passenger managed to escape the flaming wreckage unscathed.

The pilot, who identified himself as Andrew Cho to a KNBC reporter, said he’d taken off from the nearby Corona Municipal Airport and immediately tried to turn back because of engine failure.

The California Highway Patrol said the doomed plane hit a pickup truck with three people igniting a leaking stream of gasoline. The eastbound onramp from Lincoln Avenue was blocked.

A California Highway Patrol officer praised the pilot for his landing explaining the location was his only option.

The National Transportation Safety Board will determine the cause of the crash.
