Declining gas prices to accelerate, Auto Club says
SOUTHLAND – Just weeks after gasoline prices reached all-time highs, drivers are feeling relief at the pump.

In its weekly ‘Gas Watch’, the Automobile Club reported the average per-gallon price in Riverside was $5.28 or still 98-cents higher than a year ago.

Nationwide, the average price is $3.99, the lowest since March.

The Auto Club predicts a more significant drop in demand for fuel is likely to come after the Labor Day holiday.

“Some drivers have made changes to their daily habits, like carpooling, using public transit and shopping and dining out less, however, most people are still prioritizing their budgets to take family road trips”, said the Auto Club’s Doug Shupe.
