Guilty plea in USC bribery case
The former dean of the University of Southern California’s school of social work has agreed to plead guilty to a federal charge that she bribed longtime Los Angeles politician Mark Ridley-Thomas. Marilyn Louise Flynn, 83, funneled $100,000 Ridley-Thomas provided from his campaign account through USC to a nonprofit operated by his son to obtain a lucrative county contract. Ridley-Thomas, currently a Los Angeles city councilmember, is scheduled to stand trial November 15th. (INT)
