Rains stop Mosquito Fire in its tracks
FORESTHILL – (INT) – Wetting rains are helping firefighters encircle remains of the Mosquito Fire.

Because of its massive 76-thousand acre size, less than half of the fire’s perimeter is considered contained.

Although the fire’s behavior is considered ‘minimal’, large dry longs and trees continue to smolder.

The fire has entered its third week.

More than 10,000 residents have been allowed to return home only to face the risk of flash flooding.
