Firefighters closing the noose on Manzanita Fire
RUNNING SPRINGS – (INT) – Firefighters are gradually encircling remains of the Manzanita Fire near Keller Peak below Running Springs.

It has not expanded since breaking out Friday afternoon.

An aggressive air and ground attack limited the fire to 27 acres, the Forest Service reported.

There were no evacuations and Highway 330 linking Highland to the mountain resorts has been reopened.

The cause of the fire which appeared to originate near Forest Service Road 1N09 is under investigation.
