Social media called to halt misinformation
OAKLAND – (INT) – Social media platforms are coming under increasing pressure to stop the spread of disinformation and misinformation.

CEOs of Meta, YouTube, Twitter, TikTok and Reddit are getting requests to enforce their terms of service.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta says attacks on the integrity of the nation’s electrical process are coming at a time of increasing politically motivated violence.

“While social media companies have taken some steps to combat disinformation and misinformation campaigns, past efforts have proven inadequate,” Bonta said.

With the mid-term elections on Tuesday, Bonta called on the social media platforms to enforce their content moderation policies.
