Gas price decline on Thanksgiving menus
SOUTHLAND – (INT) – Thanksgiving week travelers should find gasoline prices more to their liking.
The Automobile Club of Southern California has found pump prices dropping because of reduced demand and increasing gasoline inventories.
Riverside posted a 7-cent-a-gallon drop over the past week to an average of $5.31. The statewide average is $5.37 for 87 octane regular. Nationwide it’s $3.73.
It remains to be seen if lower prices will put more people on the road for Thanksgiving.
“The Auto Club is projecting an all-time record number of 4.5 million Southern California Thanksgiving travelers, with 3.9 million of them driving to their destinations, so demand will likely increase in the coming days,” spokesman Doug Shupe said.
