Has the IE’s manufacturing sector hit the skids?
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – The purchasing manager’s index (PMI) has declined for three consecutive months putting the Inland Empire’s manufacturing sector in a new downward trend.

The Institute of Applied Research at Cal State San Bernardino says if the trend continues, it could portend an economic downturn in 2023.

The Production Index registered a big drop this month. But the research unit said this is not necessarily a cause for concern.

The Commodity Price Index was at its lowest point since April 2020.

The overall Inventory level (units, not dollars) including raw, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Operating), intermediates, etc. registered at 40.7, a significant decrease.
