Is La Nina ending nearly 4-years of dominance?
SOUTHLAND – (INT) – La Nina’s long-running grip on California may be easing.

Based on the latest water temperatures in the Central Pacific, climatologists are predicting a trend away from La Nina to ‘neutral’ conditions February to April reaching an 82 percent chance in the spring. But, a moisture-bearing El Nino is not predicted.

The Climate Prediction Center (CPC) is weighing the faster dynamic computer models versus the statistical models going out February through April.

Although change is coming, the CPC acknowledged a good deal of uncertainty.

It did not comment on the Pacific storms lashing California that have brought considerable amounts of rain to some areas.
