Jobless rate takes another dip INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Unemployment across Riverside and San Bernardino counties dipped to 3-point-6 percent in December, the second-lowest for 2022. A year ago, it was 5-percent.
During the year, employers expanded their payrolls by 79,600 workers. The State Employment Development Department (EDD) noted that virtually all job sectors expanded. Trade, transportation, and utilities registered the largest gain over the year adding 17,900 jobs. Seventy-eight percent of the job gains were in transportation, warehousing, and utilities. The Inland Empire’s jobless rate continues on a par with California’s rate of 3.7% for December. On a related note, California has the nation's 9th lowest job resignation rate.
