Riverside's State of the City
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – A renewed focus on economic development was the accent in Riverside’s annual State of the City message.

At the same time, Mayor Patricia Lock Dawson called for sustained progress against homelessness and a goal of eliminating youth homelessness this year. “No young person should have to worry about shelter, or sleep on the streets when they should be attending school or becoming a member of our workforce,” Lock Dawson said in her address Thursday January 26th at the Riverside Convention Center.

The Mayor Riverside declared that her city is in a strong financial position in part because general sales tax revenues have increased more than 30 percent since 2019. Sales tax revenues for Measure Z have increased by nearly 34 percent during the same period.
