Spigot opened wider on State Water Project
SACRAMENTO – (INT) – A little more water will be flowing down the State Water Project through the Central Valley into Southern California.

The Department of Water Resources (DWR) has boosted to 35 percent the amount of water requested by the 29 public water agencies that rely on imported Northern California water.

That’s a significant improvement from the trickle of water promised in December.

The 35 percent allocation announced Wednesday February 22nd takes into account snowpack and reservoir storage from the winter storms, current hydrology conditions, spring runoff forecasts, and an anticipation of dry conditions returning.
