Storm brings more swift water rescues
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Swift water rescues are becoming more frequent as rainstorms add to the already saturated ground across the Inland Empire.

In Riverside County Wednesday, there were several such incidents in Jurupa Valley, Menifee and Coachella as motorists drove into flooded streets.

Four people were rescued when their vehicle became submerged in deep water on Matthews Road in Menifee. Another motorist was taken to a hospital after being pulled from the Whitewater River in Coachella.

In Riverside, two people and a dog became stranded on an island in the Santa Ana River near the Van Buren Avenue bridge.
