Mountain businesses offered storm recovery lifeline
SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – Businesses in the San Bernardino Mountains impacted by the crippling winter storms are being offered financial assistance.

County supervisors have approved a program of grants under the Mountain Small Business Grants Snow Response Program. Mountain businesses and non-profits with 50 or fewer employees are eligible for a one-time $3,000 grant. Businesses with more than 50 but fewer than 500 employees can receive $15,000 to assist with recovery and overhead costs for rent and utilities.

Supervisor Dawn Rowe pointed out the grants should help “businesses stay in business, keep mountain residents employed, and contribute to the area’s economic recovery.” To qualify, businesses must have been in operation prior to February 27th and have a brick-and-mortar location in the affected San Bernardino Mountains that is used by employees and customers.

The program began April 7th.

The application process is expected up and running in the next couple of weeks online at https://snowinfo.sbcounty.gov/.
