Count: More homeless but the rate has slowed; Corona claims 60 percent reduction
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – Numerically, Riverside County’s homeless is increasing but the rate has slowed.

Results of January’s annual point-in-time count released Tuesday found 3-thousand-725 individuals who said they were homeless. It’s an increase of more than 400 from the prior year. That represented a 12 percent increase as compared to 15 percent in 2022.

Those unsheltered increased by 23 percent.

More than 1,000 volunteers and others covered all areas of Riverside County during the count.

On a related note, the City of Corona announced a 60.1% percentage reduction in unsheltered homelessness since the launch of Corona’s Homeless Strategic Plan.
