CABAZON – (INT) – Drivers of a Tesla 3 and a Chevy Suburban will be questioned in hopes of determining what caused their vehicles to collide Sunday on the I-10 near Cabazon.

Three people in the SUV were killed and four others severely injured. One of the fatalities was identified Monday as Cecilia Villalobos, 31, of Anaheim. The others were relatives residing in Anaheim.

An initial statement from the California Highway Patrol said both vehicles were eastbound near Haugen-Lehmann Way. Several of the victims were not wearing seat belts as the Suburban crashed into the center divider.

The impact closed the eastbound I-10 for more than 6-hours.
