Fire restrictions protect communities in nine counties ![]() INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – With the summer fire season at hand, public restrictions in the desert are the first to be enacted.
The Bureau of Land Management is restricting campfires, controlled flame devices, target shooting and smoking on public lands in San Bernardino, Riverside, Los Angeles, Orange, Imperial, San Diego and portions of Kern, Inyo and Mono counties. “These proactive fire restrictions are in place to protect visitors, communities, adjacent private lands and natural resources from the risk of wildfire,” said California Desert District Manager Shelly Lynch.
