INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – The Census Bureau has counted nearly 87-thousand veterans residing in San Bernardino County.

Before their closures, the former Norton and George Air Force Bases in San Bernardino and Victorville were home to tens of thousands of military personnel. Today, the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center near 29 Palms is the largest Marine base in the U.S. while Fort Irwin near Barstow is a major Army training center.

The San Bernardino County Workforce Development Board (WDB) is providing career assistance to military veterans.
