Students questioned on their sense of belonging
SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – Students in the San Bernardino City Unified School District have responded to a survey on their sense of belonging and whether they feel safe.

53 percent of the students in grades 6-through-12 gave a favorable rating but only 47 percent of the LGBTQIAA+ students agreed.

Results of the annual district survey followed the LGBTQIAA+ Pride Celebration. More than 400 students, family members and supporters attended the May 20th event at Indian Springs High School.

Board of Education member Abigail Rosales-Medina thanked the school district for setting an example for the region, state, and nation for how school districts can be more inclusive and prioritize the health and wellness of all students.
