State sets goal for ‘climate-friendly’ homes
SACRAMENTO – (INT) – State officials are releasing 239-million dollars to enhance the development of more than 5-thousand so-called ‘climate-friendly’ homes.

Most will available as ‘affordable’ homes and the others will be advertised as ‘market-rate’ rentals. The remaining 75 will be set aside for ‘affordable home ownership.

State officials said in a statement that their goal is 2-and-a-half-milliom new homes. The accent will be on neighborhoods that build greener, more walkable communities that allow Californians to live closer to work.
