Mountain storm repairs may be long-running ![]() FOREST FALLS – (INT) – Caltrans says that Route 38 between Big Bear and the San Bernardino Valley is a disconnect in the wake of damage from Tropical Storm Hilary.
An 11-point-6 million dollar emergency repair project begins September 5th south of Jenks Lake Road to south of Rainbow Lane. It will not be completed for three to four months. Crews will be working 10-to-12 hour shifts, 7 days a week as needed to rebuild embankments and slopes, clear drainage and repair “significant structural damage”. In Riverside County, storm clean-up continues on Highway 371 in the Anza area. There is 1-way traffic control for a distance of 21 miles between Routes 79 and 74. Story Date: September 5, 2023
