More affordable housing coming to Riverside
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – Twenty-eight million dollars in state funding is coming to Riverside to build a 150-unit apartment project.

The Mulberry Gardens Family Apartments is planned near Mulberry and Holding streets just north of the downtown area at the former site of a CalFire regional headquarters.

The apartments will be apportioned based on tenants’ income compared to the Area Median Income (AMI). Twenty-four units for will be set aside for families at or below 30% of the AMI, 91 units for families at 50% of AMI and 32 units for families at 60% of AMI.

Riverside competed for the funding under the Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities program.
