SAN BERNARDINO - (INT) - The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department (SBSO) has joined a growing number of police agencies upgrading their patrol technology.

The department is announcing the roll-out of body-born cameras.

Deputies working out of the Central Station and Hesperia are now equipped with the visual devices.

In a statement, the SBSO says the cameras "are an additional tool our deputies will be able to use to maintain high standards of policing, accountability, and transparency within the communities we serve."

There was no indication when all deputies throughout the county will be equipped with the cameras.
