Consumer demand figures in gas price increase
SOUTHLAND – (INT) – What motorists pay for gasoline reflects a balance between increased refinery production on the West Coast and gasoline inventories.

That’s the upshot on the latest figures from the Oil Price Information Service and it’s only part of the equation.

In Riverside, the Automobile Club of Southern California (ACSC) has found pump prices 32-cents-a-gallon higher than in January. They now average $4.72 for a gallon of 87 octane regular.

ACSC spokesman Doug Shupe predicts “Gas prices are likely to increase further in the next few months as consumer fuel demand grows in the spring and summer months.”
