Census Bureau: Gainers and losers in county population INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Riverside County is now the nation’s tenth most populous county.
Estimates just released by the Census Bureau put the county’s population at just under 2-and-a-half million for a gain of 74-thousand in just three years. Los Angeles County in the nation’s most populous at 9-point-6 million far ahead of Cook County, Illinois and Harris County, Texas. Maricopa County, Arizona and San Diego County round out the top five. Negative domestic migration had an impact on Los Angeles County. It lost more than 56-thousand residents last year and another 90-thousand in 2022. Orange County was down by more than 14-thousand in 2023. Story Date: March 29, 2024
