Victorville pastor linked to Riverside shooting
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – A case of attempted murder-for-hire has landed a Victorville pastor and another man in jail.

Police in Riverside disclosed the incident in a news release Tuesday (March 19th).

According to investigators, Samuel Pasillas, 47, and Juan Manuel Cebreros, 55, were implicated in a car-to-car shooting last October in Riverside’s Orangecrest district in which the unnamed victim was shot, but survived.

A 5-month investigation determined the victim had been dating Pasillas’ daughter.

Detectives also determined the actual would-be killers were paid almost $40,000 by Pasillas. He had conducted surveillance on the victim in the weeks leading up to the shooting, police alleged. Identities of the shooters were not released.

Pasillas was identified as a pastor of the Spanish language Centro Internacional De Oracion church. A website for the church indicated it was permanently closed.
