State Water Project allocations improve
SACRAMENTO – (INT) – February’s storms have allowed state water regulators to double the percent of allocations along the State Water Project.

At 30 percent, the allocations are still far short of the amount requested by 29 public water agencies that serve 27 million Californians.

The allocation is based on snow survey measurements in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The snowpack is now at 98 percent of average for early spring.

Hundreds of thousands of acre-feet of water is stored at Lake Oroville and at the San Luis Reservoir.
