Riverside pilot dead in Devil's Canyon plane crash
SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – The pilot killed when his twin-engine plane crashed in Devil’s Canyon above San Bernardino has been identified.

Blake Broadbent, 35, of Riverside was enroute from Stockton to the Chino airport when the Gulfstream AC95 went down Saturday night (April 13th). Broadbent was the only person on board.

Witnesses reported hearing the plane’s engine sputter before it crashed.

It wasn’t until Sunday morning before a sheriff’s helicopter crew located wreckage and a debris field in Devil’s Canyon. A search and rescue team was deployed into the mountainous area. The pilot and lone occupant of the twin-engine aircraft was dead.

The National Transportation Safety has mounted an investigation that is not likely to be completed for several months. The weather was cloudy at the time of the crash with scattered showers in the area.
