EDD: Joblessness slides; job growth hits 1.6 percent
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Unemployment across the Inland Empire has ticked downward for the first time this year.

The March jobless rate for Riverside and San Bernardino counties dropped fourth-tenths of a point to 5-point-1 percent.

The California Employment Development Department (EDD) estimated the number of people looking for work at just under 112-thousand. It had peaked at 120-thousand in February.

Local job growth over the past 12 months gained by 1-point-6 percent. Private education and health services added the most with 22-thousand-400 jobs.
