Riverside fire chief ending 42 year career
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – Riverside Fire Chief Michael Moore is calling it a career.

Moore announced Friday (April 19th) he is wrapping up 42 years in the fire service. He has been the city’s top fire fighter for 10-years.

During his tenure, Moore helped lead the City’s response through the COVID-19 pandemic, overseeing the Emergency Operations Team and working to bring the first vaccinations and protective measures to the city and county. Chief Moore also was actively involved in the formation of Measure Z, the one-cent sales tax that voters approved for restoring and enhancing public safety.

In a statement, Moore said “My four decades in the fire service represent a dream come true in terms of public service.” I’ve been blessed to work with thousands of exemplary individuals who made it their life’s work to protect the public.”

Moore plans to maintain a home in the Inland area with his wife of 41 years, Robyne.

Moore said he plans to stay active in various church ministries.
