More solar power coming to disadvantaged communities
WASHINGTON – (INT) – Energizing California neighborhoods with clean solar power is getting a boost.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced Monday (April 22nd) nearly 250-million dollars will help deliver residential solar for low-income and disadvantaged communities across the state.

The Solar for All funding will double the amount of solar energy in low-income multifamily complexes and contribute an annual average of 29 percent in household bill savings for over 158-thousand participating households.

The funds were made possible through the Inflation Reduction Act.

Senator Alex Padilla said “This significant investment in California’s Solar for All project will slash energy costs for low-income communities and create good-paying jobs.”
