Assistant DA charged with violating confidential peace officer files
LOS ANGELES – (INT) – Los Angeles County’s assistant district attorney finds herself on the wrong side of the law.

The State Attorney General’s Office has charged Diana Teran with repeated and unauthorized use of data from confidential, statutorily-protected peace officer files. She allegedly took data from a government computer system without permission. The crimes occurred in 2018 while Teran was working as a Constitutional Policing Advisor at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The Attorney General has alleged eleven felony violations.

“No one is above the law,” said Attorney General Rob Bonta as the charges were filed on Wednesday April 24th. “Public officials are called to serve the people and the State of California with integrity and honesty,” he said.
