Corona earthquake felt over a wide area
CORONA – (INT) – Residents in six Southern California counties report feeling an M4.1 earthquake Wednesday afternoon. It was centered about 6-miles southwest of Corona near Santa Ana Canyon.

Corona city officials said vulnerable areas were surveyed and found no damage.

The US Geological Survey said the quake was relatively shallow at just over a mile beneath the surface. It was felt as far away as Indio, Palmdale and San Diego. An M2.5 aftershock just before 6pm Wednesday went mostly unnoticed.

A precursor quake of M2.8 was recorded on April 30th in the same area.
